Mounting a Taya chain on a Sram indexing

Taya is a Taiwanese manufacturer that produces chains that can run on all indexing systems. Let’s see how mountingTaya’s chain on Sram!

The tools

To mount the Taya chain on a Sram group, you will just need a chain drift to cut the chain to the right length. Then we will use one of the two Sigma + Connector to close it!

A good quality chain drift is enough!

Time and difficulty

Since the operations are simple, if everything is clean, it will take a big ten minutes to mount the Taya chain! If we need to clean, we will be on double the time. It’s easy on a Sram transmission…

Stage 1

Mounting a Taya chain on a Sram indexing

On a Sram indexing, we pass the chain outside the derailleurs. It is then rolled up on the large chainring and the large sprocket and stretched it. To this measure will be added 2 links, plus the closing one.

Stage 2

We cut the excess links to the chain drift, remembering that it is necessary to have an internal link at each end.

Stage 3

We then pass the chain in the front derailleur.

Stage 4

Then on the sprockets…

We then roll it on the upper pulley and above all we pass under the ergot (green arrow)!

Stage 6

Then we pass it on the lower pulley. Again, we pay attention to the ergot (green arrow). The chain goes below.

Stage 7

The quick link has no direction of assembly. The chain either.

Stage 8

The Sigma + Connector link is easy to set up. It can be reused 5 times with the same chain.

Stage 9

We will use the pedaling force to lock the link. The latter is placed above the base. At the pull, we will hear a small click.

Stage 10

Once the click is heard, we can manipulate the chain to ensure that the Sigma + Connector holds well.

All that remains is to try the transmission on each sprocket and chainring by testing the Sram indexation on the Taya chain. If necessary, we will resume its setting!
