The Campagnolo Ultra-Torque bowls are non-bearing. They can be easily mounted on the BSC and Italian threaded pedal boxes.
The tools
To install Campagnolo Ultra-Torque bowls, you will need grease, cloths, but also a bowl wrench compatible with Campagnolo bowls. The Shimano key works very well, the notches being standardized.

Time and difficulty
In 15 minutes it will be done. Everything must be screwed by hand, it’s the golden rule. We only block with the tools. If it blocks, it’s because there’s something wrong…
Stage 1

The inside of the box is cleaned well with a cloth, or even degreaser, to remove traces of dirt, moisture or sand.
Stage 2
Grease is applied throughout the bottom case to avoid too much moisture.

Stage 3
We identify the bowls.

Threaded crankset boxes are generally at the BSC standard, with a left bowl in clockwise and a right bowl in anti-clockwise. Normally we can’t mount them upside down, but we can waste time… And you should never force if you have a doubt, because in this case, if it is screwed, the thread of the box may be damaged. In Italian thread, the two bowls are in threadto the right, which does not prevent there is sometimes a right and a left. And that you have to tighten the bowls very tightly. Very, very strong…
Stage 4

Grease is placed on the thread and inside of the bowl.
Stage 5
On the left side of the frame, the bowl is screwed in this direction. By hand…

Stage 6

And on the right side, we screw in the opposite direction. Always at hand.
Stage 7
We block the left bowl with the tool in this direction.

Stage 8

And the right in this one. We tighten firmly on both sides.
